Hair Loss Solutions

For many people, both male and female, hair loss is a real burden. While there are numerous so-called solutions on the market, each promising to restore hair growth and eliminate baldness, few of these are actually effective.

Herbal shampoos, lotions and sprays are perhaps the least likely to work of all of these products. This doesn't stop pharmacies from putting them on their shelves, however, and people, desperate to slow down or reverse their hair loss, continue to buy them.

Hormone therapies have been shown to be more successful than topical creams and lotions. In one relatively famous case, one stops hair from thinning by taking medication that limits the production of a certain chemical in the body.

While this solution may be effective, it is a preventative measure and not a cure. Indeed, as far as we know, the only way to reverse permanent hair loss is to have a transplant. These are costly and involve hospitalisation and an operation.

In short then, almost all topical solutions to the problem of hair loss are ineffective. It is possible to prevent, or at least to curb, hair loss through hormone therapy, but the only way to reverse it completely is through a transplant.
