Ann McCracken, Diector of Stressmanagers Ltd, has recently been elected to the Chairmanship of ISMA, the International Stress Management Association, based in London. Ann was previously Vice-Chair of ISMA and takes up her post with immediate effect. This is a great achievement for the group and, of course, for Ann personally.
Chris Clarke, Director of Stressmanagers Ltd, has been elected Secretary of ISMA, the International Stress Management Association, in succession to David Moore. The part-time post is responsible for all ISMA administrative functions, but will still allow Chris to continue his role as Stressmanagers’ Head of Training. Well done, Chris!
John Richardson and Tim Owen, both long-standing members of the Stressmanagers group, are celebrating the award pf the MSc degrees from Anglia Ruskin University. John and Tim are the only 2 members of the 12-strong cohort so far to complete their degrees, which was a challenging course designed, piloted and undertaken by members of Stressmangers and the ALC group. The two will receive their postgrad degrees in Personal Development, Mentoring and Stress Management in Cambridge on November 13.
Three Stressmanagers members (Tim, Ann and Sue) joined forces with four members of the Society for Stress Management (Gill, Bev, Pauline and Cheryl) to attend a recent APT course in Leicester entitled ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy : Key Knowledge and Skills’. The 3-day course was masterfully presented by APT’s Director, Dr Will Davies, and was greatly enjoyed by all for its informal style and immediate applicability to our own therapeutic techniques. Further CBT modules (e.g. CBT for Anxiety and CBT for Depression) are also available, and other group members can be unreservedly encouraged to try out the APT course for themselves. Everyone’s thanks go to Gill Hines for making the arrangements.
